Global Campaign: Recognition of the Right to a Healthy Environment

In partnership with the Right to a Healthy Environment Coalition, CERI is mobilizing thousands of children, young people and allies from across the world to advocate for the recognition and implementation of the right to a healthy environment.

Governments must do more to uphold the rights of children affected by the environmental crisis.

On 28 July 2022 the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution recognizing the human right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment – with thanks to the advocacy of thousands of children, young people and allies worldwide.

This resolution is a powerful tool for stakeholders to hold their governments accountable for this right – to ensure all children have clean air, safe and sufficient water, healthy and sustainably produced food, non-toxic environments, healthy ecosystems and biodiversity and a safe, livable climate.
